Designed in 1970 by Giancarlo Piretti, Plona is a foldable and stackable armchair. The sturdy frame is made of stainless and polished aluminum, with alloy joints. The Plona shell, in shockproof plexiglass, is made of a single component. This brings the user to an enveloping use.

Giancarlo Piretti
Born in Bologna in 1940, Piretti studied at the Istituto Statale d'Arte in the same city before joining Anonima Castelli as a designer. One of his most famous works is the Plia chair, presented in 1969. Among his most important creations are Plona, Platone and DSC 106, which would later propagate its lines to the Axis 3000 and 4000 models. In 1988, at the NeoCon in Chicago, he presented the Piretti Collection: a series of over 50 chairs and seats characterized by a patented mechanism on the backrest, which allows the chairs to be adjusted according to the user's weight.
