In 1982, Charles Randolph Pollock created Penelope, a true design classic. The American designed a light and flexible project for Anonima Castelli. Penelope consists of a sled base in steel wire supporting a mesh seat covered in Rilsan. The elastic effect of the base is underlined by a polyurethane tube that acts as a shock absorber. The armrest covers, made of the same material, offer additional comfort. With Penelope, Pollock has made a new form of seating a reality.

Charles R. Pollock
Famous designer born in Philadelphia in 1930, he began his studies at the Cass Technical College in Detroit. Here he won a scholarship to the Pratt Institute of Design. Known mainly for his revolutionary work in the design of chairs and furniture for interiors, including chair number 657 and the eponymous Pollock designed for Knoll, he created the award-winning Penelope chair for Anonima Castelli in 1982. In the style of this designer, contemporary designers of the same caliber recognize a lightness that is not only visual, but also physical, tangible, honorable.
