Emilio Ambasz
Emilio Ambasz is a renowned architect and designer who was born in 1943 in Resistencia, Argentina. Known for his green vision of architecture and his commitment to the integration of nature into urban spaces, he soon became an esteemed curator of the architecture department of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, taking part in the iconic exhibition “Italy: The New Domestic Landscape”. Still in the museum’s historic collection, we find the Vertebra chair, designed for Anonima Castelli in 1976: an office chair conceived to automatically adapt to the user’s physiognomy as an extension of the body. The chair, designed with Piretti, won the Compasso d’Oro award in 1981.
